It began with a simple drill animation. Initially, I had planned for all the characters and the collectable parts within the game to be 2D black and white drawings. However, when I created this drill, I was compelled to create an entire character to accommodate it.

And when I finished this design, it was by far my favorite I had done for the game thus far. I needed to make more.

And after creating a few 3D models, I believe that this is a far stronger direction then just 2D drawings. I still need to create materials for these models (perhaps I’ll even use vibrant colors).
