Last week I worked on the airship location. It’s mostly finished. I mainly just need to create a ticket vendor for the booth.

This was actually a much more tedious scene to do than I had initially expected.

It began with the simple idea of animating an art piece I had done a while ago.

However, to animate these characters (and the airship), you first have to cut them from the image.

Then, you need to digitally repaint the background (You don’t need to repaint a hole, if a character stands in front of it).

Once we have our elements, we assembled them in the Unity game engine. Which looks something like this:

However, that’s from the perspective of the camera. In actuality, the scene looks more like this:

I’m going to think long and hard before using this cut-out method again. It was exhausting.
